I like Slack, it is very easy to use, as well I like to protect my information so I have NordVPN Teams. By the way, I see a lot of programs are mentioned which I never heard before. For example, Acquire or Lovox, are they useful to have and how about their pricing?

  • Avatar Sandra C Ramsey says:

I used to use Asana and was about to use monday, before i went over to ClickUp. One of the deal breakers with Asana and monday, was the lack of a “native” desktop client. For an application that advanced and which I use all the time, it’s just not acceptable having to open up a browse tab each time when using it. It has to be just one click away, like having it in the dock/taskbar. monday was also expensive.

I was very happy when I started using ClickUp. It is one of the most feature rich alternatives out there, and they add new features all the time. I belive they will be the clear number 1 project manager in a few years.

    Thanks for sharing this article.

  • Avatar Alex says:

Can you review MyChat as well?

  • Avatar Trond says:

I love Workplace from Facebook. So much more features than Yammer – which looks like a communist-era Eastern European street compared to Workplace’s Times Square!

Hi Greg! Quite an exhaustive list, solid research… I think I will definitely bookmark this for future reference! I would also suggest to include Freshconnect to the list of communication tools. It’s a nifty tool that integrates with popular helpdesk and CRM softwares like Freshdesk and Freshsales, and brings team collaboration right where the context/issue lies. Makes it super easy for teams to collaborate on a customer ticket or ongoing sales deal, whatever the case may be.

  • Avatar Sean says:

My favorite collaboration tool is Kanban Tool. It’s so easy to use! I can see clearly what tasks I still have to do and what I have done. I can even see what my colleagues are working on at the moment. Kanban Tool lets me organize my tasks into projects, so I can actually see how much there is to do to close one thing and start the other. I often work while traveling, so the fact that it works well with touchscreen is pretty important to me. So far the best choice for me.

  • Avatar DJL says:

Excellent list of tools. Have you tried NowBridge? It a great team connectivity app which creates the illusion of being in a room together by sharing small, filtered, still images every few seconds with the people you choose to connect with. This way you can see who is there and if they are free, but it still creates a privacy barrier compared to a live video feed. The system is mutual so you can only be seen by the people you can see. Additionally it allows you to open up chat windows with your team.

  • Avatar Dinnie says:

Great list, Greg! I would also add Zenkit into the mix.
Similar to Trello and Asana, Zenkit, is a project management tool designed for collaborative use within teams of any size. It is user-friendly, customizable, and its clean design will allow you to manage your tasks and projects smoothly. Available on web, desktop, and mobile app, it’s ideal for remote teams.

  • Avatar Brad says:

Very comprehensive list……would add Walkabout Workplace, which is a next generation 3D virtual office platform. The difference is that it isn’t another tool but rather a “place” where remote teams that work together on a regular basis go everyday, making them feel like they are physically together with all their applications in a virtual office environment. It creates much stronger spontaneous engagement by bringing back the ability to “walk down the hall” and knock on a colleagues door to ask a quick question, creating faster, better more connected decision making.
